2nd INTERNATIONAL ONLINE WORKSHOPS JOURNEY
There will be 6 Online Workshops with Inelia Garcia held in April and May according to the schedule below.
STRUCTURING THE CLASS
Have you ever heard of a device called Baby Chair or Arm Chair?
Perhaps you have even already experienced giving some classes in it, practiced some exercises or it is still standing in some corner in your Studio. It may be small, but it is powerful and it cannot be lost in your repertoire of classes in any way!
The Baby Chair was created by Joseph to help children and people with joint weakness of the upper limbs, helping to strengthen the whole body. Composed of a comfortable chair, mobile support, springs and handles, it is very versatile and can be used for exercises for diverse levels and age ranges.
There is more! If you think that the repertoire ends in exercises performed only in the sitting position, you are mistaken. When used well, the Baby Chair is a great tool and very efficient for working the whole body in many different positions. It acts as a protagonist in the pedagogical construction of movement in various more complex exercises that will be executed by the client in other devices, such as the Cadillac, Reformer, among others.
Don't have a Baby Chair yet?
No problem! In this workshop you will learn how the same exercises can be performed with or without the apparatus. With some small adaptations the client will be able to do it sitting in the comfort of their home or in the Studio.
Reminder that all classes will be LIVE!
Lots of practice, interaction and mentoring for your questions. I want to see you there, practicing together with me and exchanging experiences with the countless Pilates professionals who will participate in this event.
Invest in this program to be ready when the studios open up with fresh information and knowledge of this system.
We are going to change how you teach.
APRIL 24 - SATURDAY
10am - 13pm
Many devices were created by Joseph Pilates, but none is as little known and almost never used during classes as the Pedi Pole.
From a distance it looks simple, a rod, two springs and handles, but the possibilities and versatility that this device offers are endless. Among its main attributes are stabilization, precision of movement, motor control of the body, axial stretching, the achievement of balance and postural correction.
If you don't know how to use it, are insecure in class or only use it from time to time only in endings, you are missing out on the best it can offer.
In this workshop you will learn the variety of the different exercises and how to apply them with the modifications that each client needs. We will also address the emphasis on exercise safety and step-by-step pedagogical processes to prepare an unforgettable lesson.
And best of all, it’s live!
That's right! We will interact, do the exercises together and you will also have the exchange of experiences with the countless Pilates professionals who will participate in this event.
Don't have Pedi Pole yet?
Don't worry, we will teach you adaptations that you can practice and teach even if without the apparatus. Yes, it is that simple, with our small tips and handy items you can make your class even more motivating.
Do you accept the challenge?
AP4I 25 - SUNDAY
10am - 13pm
Joseph Pilates once said, "You are as young as your spine is flexible.”
The spine is the base of our body, and because of this, the health and flexibility of the spine is so important. When thinking about the spine, there is one apparatus that we cannot forget: the Spine Corrector.
Portable, light and dynamic, it has a peculiar shape with sharp curve on a slightly steep base where the spine and hips fit perfectly during exercises. This helps the practitioner maintain stability and safety during movement.
The Spine Corrector makes it much easier to work on the strength and flexibility of the spine and hips, expanding the rib cage, improving breathing, and preventing and rehabilitating injuries.
As if this weren’t enough, the exercise repertoire is so wide that you can use it separately or as an accessory on the Reformer, Mat and Cadillac to modify the intensity and degree of difficulty of the exercises.
Get your Spine Corrector and a mat and join me in this workshop to learn more, LIVE!
You will be able to participate, ask questions and network with countless professionals to share your experiences with the Pilates method.
Don't have a Spine Corrector yet? No problem!
This is a great opportunity to learn everything it has to offer, including the exercises and how to adapt many of them for use in your Studio or with your clients at home.
MAY 15 - SATURDAY
10am - 13pm
STRUCTURING THE CLASS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON ENDINGS
Nobody tells you these important things! Did you know that the secret to your classes being successful, building loyalty and making your student a Pilates fan is in planning?
Each class hour needs to be carefully structured as follows:
STARTING THE CLASS
The class must be based on your client's current needs. Are they in pain? Discomfort? How are they feeling emotionally at the time of class?
Learning to read the body from the first moment will help you discover every detail.
MAIN PART OF THE CLASS
Learn to apply the exercises to the needs and goals of the student. Build trust and confidence, show results and encourage self-esteem. Add new exercises, if necessary, but, remember that building the body is daily and requires dedication.
This is where most professionals make mistakes! Your biggest challenge is to finish class so that your client has the feeling of mission accomplished, but at the same time be challenged to return in the next class.
If you don't feel confident with this, feel that your classes are on autopilot or have never thought about the structure of the class, this workshop is for you!
We will address the importance of the class ending, exercises employed for each level, most suitable apparatus, the importance of body proprioception and how to apply feedback at the end of each class to ensure customer loyalty.
Our classes will be live! Nothing is pre-recorded, be ready!
We will interact together, do the exercises together and you will also have the exchange of experiences of the countless Pilates professionals who will participate in this event.
Make a change, stand out!
MAY 16 - SUNDAY
10am - 13pm
How many times have we heard that small details make all the difference?
It is the details, creativity, care, that extra touch of charisma that make your class irresistible and captivate even the most unbelieving customers in the method.
I have no doubt that you already know the Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Wunda and Baby Chair! They are all common apparatus in the studios. But, do you know and know how to use the Pilates accessories?
Here are a few:
- Foot corrector
- Neck stretcher
- Postural apparatus
- Toe exerciser
- Airplane board
- Board and triangle for pre-pilates (exclusive for the feet)
If you were in doubt, are not sure how to use these, or did not know that Joseph also created accessories, then you can’t miss this workshop.
I will show you how small accessories are great allies, both in face-to-face and online classes. You will learn how the exercises can be easily adapted to be used with simple objects that your client have at home.
All of this LIVE!
There will be plenty of interaction, exercise and feedback. You also count on the exchange of experiences with the countless Pilates professionals who will participate in this event.
You will build creativity and joy in your teaching.
Come with me and I'll show you!
MAY 29 - SATURDAY
10am - 13pm
Imagine this scenario; you bring your students together, warm up, stretch their muscles, move forward, sideways and back, do the sequence of exercises the way you learned, and end with relaxation. One stretching class ends and the next time you repeat everything again. Is this correct?
The answer is: it depends!
If you have not awakened each part of your body in an integrated and conscious way, working your body and mind in sync, you only moved. You missed the opportunity to use the movement to teach your clients the power of self-knowledge through reflexology techniques. If you know the body and the points that need to be adjusted, it is possible to improve the systemic functioning, using breathing and few repetitions.
Feeling and connecting are key words for conscious stretching.
I created this technique more than 30 years ago. It has been tested and validated by countless clients and professionals in the health and wellness area.
Using the body and some accessories, which you and your client can find at home, we can do relaxing, invigorating and constructive exercises. And then your clients’ bodies will change over time!
You can't keep doing the same thing, just moving around, and expect different results. Have you seen people doing this?
So, let's practice LIVE in this workshop!
We will understand when and how to use each exercise, interact, talk and exchange experiences with countless health and wellness professionals.
Join me in this workshop where we will deepen the concepts of reflexology. We will learn the importance of the feet, learn to breathe correctly, use the right vocabulary and how to structure the class from beginning to end for you to be more successful in group or individual classes.
Build new knowledge and differentiate yourself from the market.
MAY 30 - SUNDAY
10am - 13pm
